Cookie Policy
Last updated: 20 July 2026
This page explains the cookies and browser storage Syntax Sprint uses. We keep it minimal: the essentials to run the site, plus optional analytics you choose to turn on. See our Privacy Policy for the fuller picture.
Strictly necessary (always on)
These are required for the site to work and don't need consent. They include:
- Supabase authentication — cookies with names based on
sb-<project>-auth-tokenkeep you signed in. They may be split into numbered cookie chunks and can last for up to 400 days, refreshed while your session remains active. - Consent preference — a small piece of local storage (
ss_analytics_consent) that remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics, when, and against which notice version. Accepted consent is refreshed after 12 months; rejection is retained so we can continue to respect it. - Theme preference — local storage named
themeremembers your colour preference until you clear site data.
Analytics (optional)
These only load after you accept. They're off by default, and rejecting them doesn't limit the product.
- PostHog analytics — PostHog uses storage with names based on
ph_<project>_posthogand a random browser identifier for up to 12 months. We send page paths without query strings and explicit events such as starting or completing a drill. - First-session indicators —
ss_returningin local storage andss_is_first_sessionin session storage distinguish a first browser session from a return visit. They are used only after consent and removed when you reject analytics.
We disable PostHog session replay, automatic click/text capture, and person profiles. We do not send PostHog your account email, account ID, typed answers, passwords, or URL query strings.
Analytics is optional
You can use every part of Syntax Sprint without accepting analytics. If you reject, our analytics tools are never initialised — no analytics cookies or analytics network calls happen. If you previously accepted and then reject, capture stops and existing PostHog analytics persistence is cleared. A minimal opt-out record may remain so the SDK continues to respect your choice.
Change your choice
You can update your decision at any time here:
Analytics: not set
You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser, which will reset your choice and show the banner again on your next visit.
